I would like to congratulate Liz on her election as new Conservative leader, soon to be our Prime Minister. I will be seeking a meeting with her in the near future.
I want to make sure that the new PM and the cabinet she appoints recognise the key concerns of my constituents. I will raise with her the seriousness of dental issues to people in Blackpool South.
Despite a record number of dentists nationwide, the unprecedented Coronavirus Pandemic has left many practices with a backlog to get through.
Nationally, over 43 million appointments were lost due to the pandemic. Several of my constituents have contacted me regarding their difficulty in accessing dental treatment, whether it be long waiting times for appointments or difficulty finding an NHS provider.”
If Blackpool residents are experiencing problems accessing an emergency dentist, I have been informed that they can contact NHS 111 (call 111) or visit https://111.nhs.uk/ or call 0300 311 2233, 0300 123 4010, or e-mail england.contactus@nhs.net to arrange treatment.
I have also launched a campaign about this issue. Blackpool residents can sign my petition here to help me highlight the issue further:
