People in Blackpool South want to take back control of our borders and stop the boats.
And that’s why the government is working to fix our broken asylum system.
Making it fairer and deterring those who try to enter our country illegally with our Nationality and Borders Act. And changing the law so that if people come here illegally, they will not be able to claim asylum in the UK, delivering on local people’s priority to stop the boats. And we’re already seeing an impact, with small boat crossings down last year.
And in 2023, we removed more than 24,000 people who were in the UK illegally.
So our plan is working. But Labour are putting all of our progress at risk. They’ve voted against tougher measures to tackle illegal immigration 86 times. Meaning they can’t be trusted to tackle illegal immigration and deport the worst foreign criminals.
So, on 2nd May we have a choice- whether we have a Conservative MP who will work with the government to stop the boats, or a Labour candidate who will put our progress at risk.
