Support the Prime Minister and fight Labour

The last few days have seen an onslaught on the ill conceived Lords reform bill by many across party lines, and especially from MPs and members within the Conservative Party. Now that the bill has been postponed for further discussion and drafts in time for further debate and consideration at some point in the future, we all need to now give the Prime Minister our absolute support in maintaining the stability of the coalition government, so he can continue to make the changes this country so desperately needs to move forward into a positive future.

Radical Reform of Social Care

The most radical reform of the social care system in 64 years is announced today. The overhaul will mean people will get the care and support they need so they don’t reach crisis point. The draft Care and Support Bill consolidates many different laws to create a single modern statute for adult care and support. The Care and Support White Paper, also published today, sets out how the social care system will be transformed from a service that reacts to crises to one that focuses on prevention and is built around the needs and goals of people. This builds on the Government’s decision to prioritise support for social care by providing an additional £7.2bn over four years.

PM Unveils Foster-First Policy

The Prime Minister today announced plans to reduce radically the time it takes for a baby to move in with their permanent family. The Government will take action to put children’s interests first and legislate to make fostering by potential adopters standard practice in many cases, so that those in care are placed with carers who have the potential to become their adoptive parents, rather than in temporary homes.
